Color and the Starving Kids

"When I grow up, I'm going to be an artist. So I won't paint my walls. I'll get cans of paint and just splash them on the walls!"

O, child of mine. May you never stop dreaming in color!

Latest thing Sam said that still has me chuckling is in relation to me saying, "there's starving kids who have NO food to eat! So eat your crust! If those kids saw the food you are leaving, they would be so sad. THEY would eat the crust."

Sam replied earnestly, "Well, if they asked for it, I would let them have it!"

Then the next day, Lisa ranted about being grateful for the food put down on the table, not complaining, saying thank you, eating it. We're trying to train the kids not to say "I don't like it" or "ew" when confronted with strange-looking items. She also mentioned starving kids without enough food.

Sam shook his head at us. "You and Lisa keep talking about these starving kids. I will give them my food! So - don't worry about it!"
