Grandma Helen sent a package, and Sam LOVED the cute stapler he received and started stapling like crazy. Here's his thank -you. Seemed like this was going to happen sooner than a card.

What's a Bow Staff

Grandma Helen
sent me an email asking, "what's a bow-staff?"

As Sam will tell you, they started out as "bong johns," the polls, as he is demonstrating in the photo, that people used to carry pails of water and food.

Later, cool ninjas, like himself, learned to use these as weapons in martial arts.

And so he's spending the week learning "The 9 Lines of Attack" and other helpful skills, should we ever get attacked and we have a stick handy.

Quick Notes from June 2015

At the store last night, in the cleaning section:

Sam: "Men don't clean. Women clean."
Josephine: "Um- no. It says 'MR. Clean' right here."

Last game of the season.

Josephine won the Sunshine Award this year at her school. Sam won it last year! One student each years is awarded this for being - well, sunshiny! So proud.

Jo flew to Texas with grandma Helen, and back by herself. Such a big girl! Such a fun adventure.

Amelia Earhart

This was part of Josephine's research project on Amelia Earhart. My nanny Maggie had performed as Amelia in a bunch of plays back in the day, and generously sent along a couple awesome books for Jo to keep... really special... you can't tell but she's wearing pearls, just like Amelia did...
